The durable, dependable way to treat problem water.
ProSeries Iron & Hydrogen Sulfide Removal
Depending on your needs, the ProSeries Iron & Hydrogen Sulfide Removal with Aeration System may be used independently or in tandem with other ProSeries systems.
Features
Professional strength
The exterior tank is comprised of miles of glass filament for incredible durability. Inside is another tank made of sanitary plastic, ensuring that your drinking water never contacts the exterior fiberglass surface.
Proprietary controls
The computerized control of this system is directed and monitored by our hi-tech computerized head that can be programmed to meet your personal quality and usage requirements. Important data is also stored to allow for precise monitoring and maintenance.
Proactive thinking
Because the system goes to automatic bypass when regeneration is required, there is no down time, meaning you will never be without water.
How It Works
Step 1: Water enters the compressed aeration chamber and becomes highly oxygenated as it passes through. As it continues to flow throughthe tank, the oxygenated water converts the iron and manganese from dissolved minerals and gasses to physical particles.
Step 2: The highly oxygenated water then flows through the multimedia filter bed where iron and manganese are trapped.
Step 3: At pre-determined intervals, the system will backwash and reduce all contaminants from the filter media.
Limitations of Use
This system is designed for use on water supplies containing low levels of hydrogen sulfide and medium levels of iron and manganese that should not exceed 2.0 parts per million (PPM).
pH: The influent water must be 6.8 — 9.0
Iron Bacteria: If iron bacteria are present, frequent service may occur and the life of the system may be limited. By properly controlling the iron bacteria with chlorine or other approved methods for bacterial reduction, the system will function properly.
Manganese: Maximum influent manganese concentration is 2.0 PPM; amounts over 2.0 PPM may gradually prevent iron removal. For optimum manganese reduction, the pH should be 8.0 — 9.0. If both iron and manganese are present, the pH will need to be kept 8.0 — 8.5.
Organic Matter (Tannins): The presence of organics above 2.0 PPM may affect the operation of the system.
Chlorine: The presence of chlorine in the raw water supply should be limited to a maximum of 1.0 PPM. A carbon filter may be necessary depending on the level of chlorine in the raw water. Your service professional will determine the most appropriate solution.
Maintenance Requirements
Parts
The valve on your system is designed to last many years, but will occasionally require cleaning and lubrication of the moving parts. Your water quality and the amount of regenerations will affect this schedule. Consult your service professional about scheduling and completing this service.
Media
The filter media will eventually become exhausted or consumed and will need replacement. This is normal. Replacement schedules depend on the incoming water quality and your water usage. Your service professional will help structure the best maintenance schedule for your needs.
Benefits will be provided by various types of ProSeries equipment when installed and operated according to manufacturer’s recommendations. Operational, maintenance and replacement requirements are essential for the product to perform as advertised. All claims based on best available information at time of printing. Manufacturer makes no representations as to the suitability of this equipment for a particular application. Aquion, Inc does not warrant that your ProSeries product and the non-ProSeries product will perform properly when used together, and assumes no liability therefore.
